Master Profile

Master Shi Yanchuan

Secular name: Liu Taotao · 34th Generation Shaolin Disciple

Founder, Shandong Shaolin Dewu Academy · Initiator of “Kung Fu · Chan”

Entering the Way through Kung Fu

Born in Shandong in 1987, Master Shi Yanchuan began training at age six and has never looked back. In 2000 he entered the Shaolin Temple Martial Arts School International Teaching Department (predecessor of the warrior monk corps), beginning his formal Shaolin path. For him, the highest Kung Fu is not flashy technique — it is inner stillness.

Carrying Shaolin culture to the world

As a practitioner of Shaolin culture abroad, he has toured Germany, the UK, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, and more — using Kung Fu as a bridge to share authentic Shaolin arts and Eastern Chan wisdom with friends worldwide.

Chan and Kung Fu as one — in every moment

“Kung Fu is not about how many forms you know — it is whether you can settle your mind.” Over thirty years he has taught more than ten thousand students at home and abroad. Calm in character and rigorous in teaching, he unites Chan and Kung Fu — dedicated to passing on Chinese martial arts and meditation so every student may find body and mind in balance.
